General:

Forest finance, forest taxation, regional economic analysis, strategic
planning for forest management.
Specific projects:
-
Policy analyses of Maine's forestry sector, using the IMPLAN regional economic
analysis data base and model to describe and analyze linkages between and
interactions among Maine's forest resources, forest products industries,
non-timber forest-based enterprises, and timber and non-timber markets.

Exploration of relationships between unpriced forest resource products,
service, and conditions and measures of forest variety, to test the often-assumed
but seldom confirmed hypothesis that total forest value, priced and unpriced,
is a direct function of such variety.

Analysis of the financial profitability of timber growing in Maine.
